HDMR Smart City Lighting System at the Szeged Science Park
The Science Park Szeged is an outstanding hub for innovation and research & development. The industrial park has been, and continues to be, equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure capable of serving technology- and knowledge-intensive businesses. It not only provides modern facilities for the companies operating on the site but also offers unique opportunities to participate in international research projects.
The Science Park Szeged has demonstrated that innovation and sustainability can go hand in hand. The public lighting network that supports the industrial park’s road network has been installed using our company’s HDMR Smart City motion-sensor solution, which, in addition to meeting the needs of the industrial area, also results in significant energy savings.
Energy Efficiency and Sustainability
One of the advantages of the solution provided by our company is that the lighting fixtures automatically adjust to the traffic and activity of cars, bicycles, and pedestrians in the area, thereby minimizing unnecessary energy consumption. Thanks to the benefits of the HDMR solution and the system’s functionalities, the smart control has reduced the energy demand for public lighting in the industrial area by 55-60%. This could result in an annual energy saving of nearly 30,000 kWh and a reduction of more than 8,000 kg of CO2 emissions, significantly contributing to minimizing environmental impact.
Longer Lifespan, Less Maintenance
In addition to significant energy savings, the smart public lighting system also ensures a longer lifespan for the equipment. The LED lighting fixtures’ lifespan is significantly extended because they only operate at the user-defined maximum performance when the area is in use and movement is detected. When the area is in a dormant state with no movement, the HDMR system adjusts the area’s illumination to the user-defined minimum level.
Intelligent Fault Management
Another feature of the HDMR Smart City system is its ability to detect any faults, whether in the lighting fixtures or the electrical network, and immediately notify the operator. Through the software interface, the nature and location of the fault can be precisely determined, significantly simplifying and accelerating the repair process. This feature not only makes the operators’ work easier but also maximizes the system’s availability.
Flexibly Managed Solution
The entire public lighting system can be remotely controlled and monitored, allowing operators to respond quickly and effectively to the changing needs of the industrial area. The flexibility of the technology ensures that the system always operates with optimal settings while minimizing energy consumption.
The implementation of the HDMR Smart City public lighting system is a perfect example of how technological advancements can be combined with sustainable solutions. With this development, the Science Park in Szeged not only sets an example in environmental responsibility but also leads the way in the efficiency of industrial area operations.
